A library of immersive, free and accessible resources supporting the development of clinical skills and reasoning in radiation therapy.
At RadSkills we endeavor to create resources that are high-quality, immersive and engaging. We use VR video technology to bring learners actively into the treatment vault. Learners can move the camera as if they are in the treatment room, and place their focus where they wish. We also use GoPro cameras mounted strategically on the gantry to provide unique and unobstructed views of patient setups. This allows learners to see the real-time effects of patient movemen

I am a faculty member at the University of Alberta Radiation Therapy Program. I currently teach several courses developing applied clinical skills. I have a Masters degree in distance education with a focus on instructional design. My educational interests are in education technology and simulation-based education. I have been involved in radiation therapy since 1994 - first as a floor therapist and later as a clinical educator. I left clinical life for post-secondary teaching in 2014. I also have experience working as a web developer and project manager for large-scale internet projects. I enjoy applying and researching innovative ways to integrate technology into my teaching. Some projects I am working on include RadSkills (using video to teach clinical skills), and applying AR and VR technology to anatomy.
I am a faculty member at the University of Alberta, in the Radiation Therapy Program. I have experience in the profession of Radiation Therapy from across the country, in a variety of different roles, and have a Masters degree in Education with a focus on adult education and leadership. I possess a strong interest in oncology and clinical applications within a national perspective of radiation therapy. As a high-fidelity simulation instructor and previous clinical instructor, I am dedicated to developing clinical skills and advanced clinical reasoning for our students, ultimately to improve care for all of the patients we treat.
I am a member of the Learning Design Studio in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Alberta. I specialize in Visual Communication Design, and I aim to improve the experiences of learners, patients, and clinicians through means of multidisciplinary design. With each project I work on, I enjoy learning and working with others to problem-solve. My aim is to create robust and meaningful design that helps others.
I am an industrial designer who loves model-making and transforming 2D elements into 3D. From ideation to final deliverables, I take into consideration the needs of healthcare professionals, patients, learners, and caregivers alike. I hope to help learners better understand difficult-to-explain medical concepts through the use of 3Dmodels.
